Later in the quarter Wanderers’ defensive lineman Todd White blocked a Halifax pass, caught it and returned it 50 yards for a touchdown. Gillies added the convert and then proceed to kick a single on the ensuing kickoff to put Saint John up 15-0 at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter the Wanderers put together another long scoring drive that ended with a two yard run for a touchdown by Kevin Muise. Muise would add the two point convert on a pass from John Hachey to make the score 23-0.

The Shockers finally got on the board late in the half. QB Chris Livingston found Dave Dehmel in behind the Wanderers secondary. Dehemel got to the Saint John five yard line before being tackled. Several plays later Alan Wetmore bulled in from the one yard line to narrow the gap to 23-6 at the half.

Saint John stretched their lead to 29-6 in the third on a 20 yard TD pass from QB Jon Hachey to Doug McPhee.

Early in the fourth quarter Wanderers’ defensive back Marcus Whittingham made the special teams play of the game with a scintillating 75 yard punt return for a touchdown. Gillies’ convert made it 36-6.

Halifax made it 36-12 when Livingstone found Terry Holland in behind the Wanderers’ DBs on a 50 yard pass and run play for six points.
