As we continue to reflect on the last 25 years, we all know how much our football team becomes our family. Football is definitely a family affair for The McNamees!
Scott McNamee has been a player, a coach, served on the executive and mostly importantly, he is a dad to THREE Wanderers players! Not only have the McNamee men dedicated over two decades of their life to the Wanderers, Melissa McNamee has also contributed through volunteering on game day, social media, and big events like our Hall of Fame Dinner! 🫶🏻

Happy 25 years to the Wanderers — what an incredible milestone. Being the only team to stand strong in the league for 25 straight years doesn’t happen by chance. It’s built on the backs of dedicated coaches, tireless executive members, supportive families, and players who bought in year after year. That kind of commitment is rare.

Being a Wanderer was never just about football for me — it was about family, pride, and legacy. We chased excellence every season: to be the hardest hitters, the most explosive offense, and relentless on special teams. Some years we reached those goals, others we fell short — but we always gave everything we had.

One lesson you learn quickly as a Wanderer: nobody is bigger than the team. It’s always been Team First. That mindset is what built this program and kept it strong for 25 years.

The Wanderers have always been family to the McNamees. My kids grew up on those sidelines, at practices and games, and each of them has worn the blue and gold. Some of my closest friendships in life came from this team. And now, seeing players I’ve coached carry on the tradition — that means everything.

To the current players: remember what it means to be a Wanderer. Put the team first, trust each other, and success will follow.

To all my brothers — past and present — the coaches, executives,  and every family who sacrificed time and energy to keep this going… thank you. The “W” stands because of you.

Here’s to the next chapter. Good luck in the 2026 season 💙💛
